The brand ‘The Horse’ is a curated collection of leather lifestyle goods, owned and operated by husband and wife Scott and Amy Hawkes. Located in Manly, this office space for the brand has been designed for meeting clients, working and collaborating on projects. The interior has been designed with a neutral colour palette that is warm and inviting, and utilises timber, marble and concrete to strongly reflect the brand’s identity.

The shopfront has an exposed white brick finish with large black frame windows that allow plenty of natural light into the space. There is minimal signage as this creates excitement for what is inside the building, and allows the warm hues from the lighting and timber to lure customers inside. As you pass the threshold, carefully considered materials such as tortoiseshell echo the brand’s popular watch frames. The use of gold accents adds a sense of luxury and sophistication to the space which contrasts against the simpler grey tones of the concrete. The ceiling is pointed with timber beams running across, adding more definition and height to the space. The geometric feature tile that runs across sections of the floor adds a bold feature to the design.​

 

The design proposal has addressed all of the client’s needs and wants by creating a space that is functional and includes all the requires spaces such as a reception, private meeting room, a collaboration area and private working desks. A kitchenette and lounge area has been included for people to interact with others and relax. The overall design strongly reflects and transmits the brands culture and identity and leaves a lasting impression on visiting clients.
